At Sorell School we believe The Early Years is a place where:
All children should feel safe and secure in their environment and develop a sense of belonging.
Partnerships with families are crucial to children attaining learning outcomes. Respectful and timely communication between staff and families is a necessary building block in these partnerships.
Social skills learning is a high priority and a continual focus. Some of the skills focussed on include
- Care for others (and themselves)
- Cooperation - in small and larger groups.
Our Early Years team offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade 2, while meeting the needs of children from Birth-8 years old.
Launching into Learning (LIL) programs support families with pre-school age children and programs are offered by Early Years specialists as well as Physical Education and Music specialists.
Sorell School offers two campus choices for families enrolling in Kindergarten. One at Midway Point which is a single classroom with a garden setting and one at the Sorell Primary campus.
